The Next Generation of Ford Ranger

The new Ford Ranger, known widely as the Next-Gen Ranger, was announced in 2022 and orders were taken towards the end of the year. 

The new Ford Ranger is a robust pick-up truck that has been redesigned for 2022. It features a bold exterior, a luxurious interior, and a range of engine options, including a V6 powertrain. It also has two four-wheel drive systems, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and a new Platinum model.

 

The new Ford Ranger offers two V6 engine options: a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 and a 3.0-litre twin-turbo petrol V6. The diesel V6 produces 184kW and 600Nm, and is available on the Platinum and Wildtrak models. The petrol V6 makes 292kW and 583Nm, and is exclusive to the Ranger Rapto. Both engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The V6 engines are more powerful and torquey than the 2.0-litre diesel engine that is also offered on the new Ranger

The new Ford Ranger has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 kg when using trailer brakes, and 750 kg when using no trailer brakes. This applies to both the V6 and the 2.0-litre diesel engines. The towing capacity may vary depending on the model, the payload, and the accessories fitted on the vehicle.

The new Ford Ranger has a fully redesigned interior that offers more comfort, technology and storage than the previous model. The cabin features a 12.3-inch touchscreen with SYNC 4, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system. The interior also has a second glove compartment, larger door pockets, and fold-flat rear seats for extra space. The new Ranger comes in different trim levels, including the Platinum model that has a bespoke exterior and a luxurious cabin with leather seats, wood trim, and ambient lighting.
